Appointment Types
APPOINTMENTS
At Smith Family Chiropractic, we are accepting new patients of all ages. It is important when you call to make an appointment to let our staff know what it is you will be coming in for. We offer a wide variety of services and we schedule appointments a bit differently depending on the services needed. Call To Set An Appointment Phone: 218-736-4113
Check out the different appointment types below:
Acupuncture
Dr. Kelly Smith does the vast majority of our acupuncture. This modality is effective for a long list of health issues, but is most commonly used for pain control in our office.
It is also important to note, that our doctors’ acupuncture license is tied to their chiropractic license, so any acupuncture services need to be done in conjunction with a chiropractic adjustment.
Chiropractic Care
Our doctors have practiced traditional chiropractic care since 1997 and offer great care with a very thorough exam and holistic approach. If you are a new patient in our office, you first visit will be a longer appointment time in order to establish you in our office. A very thorough history and examination will be completed to assure that you get the most complete care.
If you are a current patient with no new injuries, we do our best to accommodate your schedule.
If you have not been seen in our office for more than two years, we require a new examination in order to re establish you as a current patient in our office.
Functional Neurology
If you are seeking care in our office for a neurological disorder, concussion, brain injury, or learning disability your appointments will be a bit longer. Your initial appointment will likely consist of some testing with our CAPS machine and complete VNG exam. The doctor will also review your history in detail and complete a thorough diagnostic exam of your neurological health.
Next, the doctor will complete a treatment plan based on the results of the examination and testing. Some of the treatment plan will involve in office rehabilitation techniques, however the majority of the work will be up to the patient to complete after the office visits. Exercises will be given to perform at home, often several times a day. Simply coming to the appointments and receiving in office treatment will not be enough to create permanent change.
Follow up appointments will be scheduled as needed according to each patient’s specific needs. At times a periodic check in every couple of weeks or months will be sufficient. Other times, our doctors may opt for a more intensive approach where the patient will be seen several times per day for a few days.
FirstLine Therapy
If you are seeking an appointment in order to create a healthier lifestyle we would schedule two appointments for you. The first appointment will be for your BIA or bioimpedance analysis. We would set up your second appointment a couple of days later to meet with Dr. Ala. At this time, she will go over your BIA results and discuss a personal plan for your wellness.
This program offers great results, but requires work on the patients’ part. Healthy living is certainly not easy and there is no magic bullet, but feeling great and avoiding disease every day is worth every bit of effort.
